Ingredients
- 6 cups popped popcorn (plain or lightly salted)
- 3 cups mini pretzels
- 2 cups Chex cereal (rice or corn)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 (10-12 ounce) bag red, white, and blue M&M’s
- 12 ounces white melting wafers or white chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
- 1/4 cup patriotic sprinkles
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Set aside.
- In a very large bowl, gently combine the popped popcorn, mini pretzels, Chex cereal, mini marshmallows, and red, white, and blue M&M’s. Toss gently to distribute all ingredients evenly.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white melting wafers (or white chocolate chips) and coconut oil (if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overheat.
- Pour the melted white chocolate over the snack mix in the large bowl. Using a spatula, gently fold and toss the mixture until all ingredients are coated with the chocolate.
- Spread the coated snack mix evenly in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Immediately sprinkle generously with patriotic sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
- Allow the snack mix to cool and set completely at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes, or place it in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to speed up the process. Once set, break it into clusters.
- Store the snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days. Enjoy your patriotic treat!
